The Old Bakery B&B Information

Description

The Baker’s Room - B&B room: is a suite with a dual aspect, spacious bedroom which has a seating area looking out over the walled garden. Decorated in colours inspired by the sea and very comfortably furnished, the room is a mix of contemporary comfort in a traditional setting. The Baker’s Room has an en-suite bathroom with bath and a wonderfully powerful shower, toiletries and fluffy white towels. The Miller’s Room - B&B room: is a light and contemporary bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The room is decorated in autumnal gold and copper colours with a feature pine wood panelled wall and wardrobe and two large Georgian windows. Although smaller than the Baker’s room the high ceiling makes it feel light & airy. The Miller’s Room has an en-suite shower room with pressurised strong shower, toiletries and fluffy white towels. There is also a hair drier available in the dressing table drawers. Both bedrooms have a flat screen Free-view TV with a DVD player and access to our guests’ DVD library. Bluetooth iPod speakers, Free Wi- fi, Tea, Coffee & biscuits and fresh semi-skimmed milk in a small fridge which you can also use to chill your wine and drinks. Wine glasses and a cork screw / bottle opener are also provided. The Bakehouse is a two-bedroom self-catering cottage. The living/dining area has a sofa, two armchairs and a dining table that seats 4. There is a flat screen TV with DVD and Digital Freeview with around 80 channels, iPod docking station and a selection of books and games for guests to enjoy. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped and has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The downstairs bathroom features a large shower, washbasin, toilet and heated towel rail. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one with a super-king-size bed, goose down duvet and goose and duck feather topper. The second room has twin beds and views over the garden.

Both of us had careers in customer-service based organisations before we moved to Norfolk to set up our B&B. This means that we are very focused on ensuring that all our guests are very well looked after. We frequently hear comments from our guests about our attention to detail; this includes fresh milk in silent fridges in each B&B room, individual guide books for each room, maps for guests to borrow and an 'honesty shop box' for any items you may have forgotten. Alison is a keen quilter and we offer quilt retreats where guests can come and sew in our new purpose built studio whilst we provide lots of lovely home-cooked meals and cake. Mike is an avid photographer and his photographs, mostly of Norfolk, are displayed throughout the B&B - and are for sale too.

Accessibility

The Old Bakery was built in the early 1700's and as an old property it isn't suitable for wheelchair users. Both the B&B rooms are upstairs and the Baker's room is accessed by steps down through a low door-way making it difficult for people with limited mobility. Guests who are taller than 6 feet 1 inch will need to mind their head on the low beams in the bedroom and doorways. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over the bath, which means guests need to be able to step into a bath to use the shower. The Miller's room is at the top of the main staircase and is more easily accessible. It has high ceilings and doorways. The Bakehouse bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is downstairs. Whilst there is a handrail, the stairs to the bedrooms are steep and we don't recommend guests with limited mobility book the cottage. The bathroom has a shower with one step up to get into it.
