Bridge Cottage Information

Description

The most spacious of our one-bedroom cottages, Bridge Cottage has a comfortable super-king bed which can also be made into twin beds should you require, and a private bathroom with bathtub and combined shower. It also has a fully equipped kitchen including microwave and washing machine and a lovely cozy lounge with a sweet electric mock fireplace. Outside you have a lovely seating area perfect for alfresco dining or drinks. Don’t forget your walking boots, there are plenty of walks and hikes in the area, you won’t want to be indoors if you can help it! We do have TVs in all our rooms offering Free view channels – you can always link your own streaming service to it if you fancy a little more. Whilst we are largely self-catering, we do also offer breakfast and dinner hampers if you don’t fancy cooking (these must be booked in advance and are not included in the rate). Additional Information: The Bridge Cottage is part of a versatile and adaptable collection of 8 properties, available individually or, offering accommodation for 2 to 40 guests. Formerly a B&B and operating under the collective name Laskill. You may have seen us on Channel 4 back in 2018, when we won 4 in a bed! #braggingrights We adopt a friendly approach and are happy to chat through different options available for your stay. Please see our other properties if you fancy some other options: Laskill Country House (Sleeps up to 12) The Forge (Sleeps 6) The Farmhouse (sleeps 5) Foxglove Cottage (Sleeps 2) The Smithy (Sleeps 4) The Granary (Sleeps 6) Rievaulx Cottage (Sleeps 2)

Directions

A car is required when staying at the property
  • Road from A1/A170 (16.0 miles)
From the A1 take the A170 exit towards Thirsk. From Thirsk take the A170 to Helmsley (Scarborough road). At Helmsley follow the B1257 (Stokesley) for approx 6 miles, dropping into Bilsdale valley. Do not take the Hawnby turn off. Laskill is on the left and signposted. (Red phone box at Laskill exit). Sat Navs may take you on a VERY scenic drive so are best set to Helmsley for the direct route , then take the 1257 to Laskill
  • Road from Helmsley (Nearby Town) (6.0 miles)
Helmsley is close to Laskill and easy to find. Laskill is then a further 6 miles north of Helmsley on the B1257 heading towards Stokesley. From Helmsley just stay on the 1257 passing turn offs for Rievaux and Hawnby. You will come the top of Newgate Bank (Sign for Bilsdale at the top) and then drop into Bilsdale. Laskill is on the left approx 1/2 mile from the bottom of Newgate Bank. Turning on the left - look out for a red phone box. We are there.
