The Black Bull Inn Information

Description

The Black Bull Inn is the recently re-opened and fully restored jewel in the crown of the picturesque village of Lowick. Set in the rural heart of North Northumberland, this charming and idyllic locale is the perfect pit-stop en-route to exploring the beautiful nearby beaches at cheswick, the dramatic landscapes of the cheviot hills or venturing over the border into Scotland. The Inn itself dates back to the early 19th century although there has been a dwelling here since the 17th century. Although it has been fully restored to offer a more contemporary feel, it still retains the most important traditions of fine ale, fine banter and fine food. Boasting 10 beautifully appointed and elegant en-suite rooms, all with the modern conveniences one would come to expect from a 21st century Inn, we offer double and single occupancy B&B at very reasonable rate. Whilst here, you can sample some fine Northumbrian cuisine, using locally sourced produce where possible, washed down with a pint of local cask ale or maybe a glass of wine from our bespoke and tailored wine list. We also have a coffeehouse serving freshly ground coffee, speciality teas and freshly made cakes and sandwiches all day. So, whether you’re a beachcomber, a hill-walker an explorer or just passing through…why not pop in to the Black Bull and sample a little touch of rural Northumbrian hospitality and class.
