The Lions Information

Description

The Lions is a small boutique bed and breakfast establishment in Newark-on-Trent, Nottinghamshire that offers comfort and a place to relax – truly a home from home. A beautiful, Grade II listed, detached townhouse it is one of the finest late Georgian buildings in Newark. Run by Pablo Petit-Breuilh and John Taylor, the business draws upon Pablo’s experience in international travel and tourism and John’s local background and knowledge of the region. Both John and Pablo work tirelessly to ensure every guest's stay is an excellent one. The house has an attractive and welcoming façade and a front garden area with parking facilities. The rear garden offers a well-kept space comprising a large lawn, flower beds, shrubs and trees, offering guests the possibility of enjoying breakfast, lunch or, perhaps, in the summer, supper outdoors on the patio, in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The Lions is centrally located and is an easy 10-minute walk from the town's market square and varied shopping facilities and a 15-minute walk or a short taxi-ride from both Newark North Gate and Newark Castle railway stations. London is 1 hr 20 minutes away by train, while Lincoln and Nottingham can be reached in 30 minutes. There is a good local bus network covering nearby towns and villages. Newark lies close to the A1, A17 and A46 major through-routes and so has excellent road links. East Midlands International Airport is just over 30 miles away. From the imposing main entrance, guests are welcomed into the hallway that boasts a restored flagstone floor. The Dining Room is decorated in a tranquil duck-egg blue and features traditional furniture, a beautifully-restored Arts and Crafts fireplace, individual tables and French doors that offer a fine view of, and access to, the rear garden – altogether a relaxing environment to enhance guests’ breakfast and dining experiences. Although The Lions is a bed and breakfast establishment, lunches and evening meals can be provided on request.
