Description

Autumn colours, at Cwmllechwedd Fawr sitting in Mid Wales, in the parish of Llanbister. a short drive away from Llandrindod Wells, with its Spa and lake, offering shops and great places to eat. The Royal Welsh show ground with its many events throughout the year is also close by. Offas Dkye can be reached on the drovers path that runs above the house at 1600 feet, where you can see The Radnor Hills and Brecon Beacons There are two ponds with seating to enjoy the wildlife and birds, each of which Is in abundance around the farm. You will also see cattle and sheep grazing in the fields that surround the property. And take long walks Cwmllechwedd fawr offers 3 guest rooms, each with tea/coffee making facilities, ironing facilities, television with DVD players, clock radios and many more quirky features. There are two guest lounges, one in the great hall by the log burning fire and the second is a cosy snug on the first floor with views over looking the countryside. Breakfast is taken in the great hall where the resident Dragon (Fred) keeps an eye on events. You can enjoy paleo, cave man, Keto full Welsh, gluten free and vegetarian breakfast. Other diets catered for. Breakfast can also be taken on the veranda along with afternoon tea. (48 hours notice needed). From here you can enjoy the garden and views beyond. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house and a large selection of local books and maps can be found in the snug lounge on the first floor. Dvd's are available to watch in your room. Board games are available in the great hall. A locked cycle shed and washing facilities are available, on request. A welcome tray awaits you with local produces, fresh milk, complimentary water, biscuits and treats. Snacks can be purchased from the snack box with a honesty box. NEW! Sharing platters (mini of 2 people sharing) Pork-pie & cheese ploughmans, Welsh local cheese's, Homemade soups, Sharing platter of fresh Sandwiches(charges )

The house is over 200 years old. There are 3 steps into the house and all bedrooms are accessed by the original oak stair case. Hand rails are fitted to all baths and a hand rail is on the stair case.

Directions

  • Road from A483 (1.8 miles)
    Head for Llanbister village of the A483. Once in the village proceed up the hill and over the cattle grid. Go up the bank along the flat and then the steep down hill. On reaching the bottom of the hill you have a sharp right hand junction, sign posted Llanbadarn Fyfydd. Take this junction. After 1/2 mile we are on the right hand side. You will go through a gate and then follow the track up to the house. Track unsuitable for low grounding vehicles.
