The Flying Fish Stables Information

Description

The Flying Fish Stables offers 8 very spacious, self-contained, modern, well-equipped en-suite rooms with private parking and verandas. Located in the beautiful county of Somerset, 3 miles from the charming town of Ilminster and 10 miles from the County Town of Taunton, The Flying Fish Stables enjoys an enviable, elevated and peaceful position with stunning rural views across to The Blackdown Hills. We are easily accessed from the main travel routes of the A303 (5 mins), A358 (2 mins) and M5 J25 (10 mins). It is the perfect base for a Staycation with so many attractions within striking distance - beautiful walks and cycle routes, historic houses such as Barrington Ct and Montacute House, Ham Hill, Willows & Wetlands Centre, Taunton Racecourse and Somerset County Cricket Ground to name a few. The popular town of Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast is just 30 mins away, as is stunning Exmoor. All rooms have complimentary WiFi, Smart TVs, tea making facilities, Nespresso coffee machines, hairdryers, irons, ironing boards, 2 chairs and a table and super comfy beds. The bathrooms have baths and separate showers (accessible rooms do not have baths), heated towel rails and complimentary toiletries. We are family and pet-friendly and can add 2 extra beds to any room for children 17yrs and under at £20 each per night, including breakfast. Freshly prepared meals are served in our on-site restaurant, The Flying Fish. Whether stopping overnight, staying for a few days to explore the many attractions this area has to offer or visiting the area for business, The Flying Fish Stables is the perfect place to stop and pause awhile. Family owned and operated by Husband and Wife, Buddy and Kate, since January 2018, whatever the reason for your visit, you will receive the personal touch from us and our team as we believe in treating our guests like family. We hold Trip Advisor's Hall of Fame and Travellers Choice Awards. Why stay anywhere else when you can stay at The Flying Fis

Husband and wife team, Buddy and Kate bought The Flying Fish (The Square & Compass as it was formerly known) in January 2018 and have since put their stamp on the place. Buddy hails from the beautiful Caribbean island of Barbados and you will see, hear and taste influences of the Caribbean, be it in our food (jerk chicken and curry mutton are always on the menu), our name (flying fish are abundant in the Caribbean), our drinks (why not try a Mt Gay rum or Buddy's home made Rum Punch?), our music (reggae music often plays in the background) and our relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Kate is Surrey born and bred and a former police detective. Fortunately, you wont see much "evidence" of her previous life (!) except her ability to chat with people from all walks of life. We both enjoy meeting people and getting to know them so expect to us in and around the restaurant and bar during your stay.
