Dunkery Beacon Country House Information

Our wonderful Exmoor Country House offers luxury accommodation in a boutique hotel style. Wake up to a hearty breakfast and truly breath-taking views that stretch across the hills and moors. We are situated down a quiet country lane near to Dunster and Porlock in stunning, unspoilt countryside. After a day full of interest and activity, why not relax once again in the dining room and enjoy a gourmet three course evening meal (Wed - Sun). Standing in lovely gardens, Dunkery Beacon Country House is a former Edwardian hunting lodge and has seven luxuriously appointed and individually decorated en-suite rooms, plus one with private facilities. One of the bedrooms we have is located on the ground floor, so ideal for people with limited mobility, plus we also designate 2 bedrooms as dog-friendly. Children 10 years of age and over are welcome. Please note, there is no lift at the property. Our aim is to create an atmosphere that is welcoming, relaxing and refreshing and with our en suite bedrooms we provide a superior level of comfort with fantastic views across the moor. Situated near some of the prettiest villages and dramatic coastline in Britain and with stunning moorland literally on the doorstep, our country home provides the perfect location for an Exmoor experience or to visit Somerset, Devon and beyond. Dunkery Beacon Country House. A truly unique and special place to stay on Exmoor.

Due to the age and nature of the building, there are restrictions on the level of access available to persons with limited mobility. We regret the property is not suitable for wheelchair users. The ground floor twin room is most readily accessible for persons able to walk, but not able to use a stair case. Please note, the shower room is not equipped with disability supports but an adjustable height shower stool can be provided if required. There are 6 steps up to the front door of the property but, as an alternative, access can be gained via the side lawn and a ramp up on to the front verandah. PLEASE NOTE THE PROPERTY DOES NOT HAVE A LIFT.
