Sibton White Horse Inn Information

Description

The White Horse is a cosy village pub and sits in a prime Suffolk location, surrounded by lovely countryside and yet only five minutes from the A12 at Yoxford. The coast at Dunwich is 10 miles away and seaside favourites Southwold and Aldeburgh are just a twenty minute journey. The White Horse dates back to the 16th-century and has retained many of its original features. Wonky walls, mighty ship timbers and old pews create a real welcoming charm and evoke on a by-gone era. The White Horse has a natural pubby feel and you can sense the warmth and conviviality about the place. You can pull up a stool and enjoy a drink at the bar or reserve a table and experience the kitchens fine reputation for very good food. If you are looking for a short stay, the White Horse has five well appointed guest rooms, located in a separate modern annexe adjacent to the pub. The rooms are quietly situated with plenty of parking and most have views over the green and beyond. The rooms, two kings, two doubles and one twin are furnished in a contemporary style, have modern en-suite facilities and offer the comforts of a four star rated inn. Beds are comfy with feather down pillows and quilts dressed with crisp white cotton. Televisions have Freeview channels with DVD players, wifi is good and the heating is modern and efficient. Fluffy towels, Duck Island toiletries and a generous hospitality tray add further luxury. The kitchen at the White Horse has built a solid reputation for outstanding food and has been rewarded with numerous accolades including 2 AA Rosettes and The Good Pub Guide Suffolk Dining Pub of 2018. The dishes are honestly fresh, all home-cooked, full of flavour and very satisfying. Head chef Tommy Greening takes full advantage of the local Suffolk larder including the produce from the pubs own kitchen garden.

Neil and Gill Mason are the charming husband and wife team behind the success of the Sibton White Horse Inn. Their storey began in 2005 when they left their life in Leicestershire and arrived in Sibton. Moving careers in graphic design and the dental industry respectively, taking on the tired White Horse was an ambitious project. With no experience in the industry, the transformation they have achieved is incredible. Their boundless enthusiasm and passion for the pub won the hearts of the public and adulation of many a tourist guide. The awards for food and accommodation have been racking up year after year. But Neil and Gill are the first to admit they could not have done it on their own, they have a very loyal, friendly and helpful team behind them. It is clear their staff share the same passion and enthusiasm for the job, many of their team have been on the journey since it all began back in 2005. Therefore if you are popping in for a drink, a three course meal or an overnight stay, regardless who greets you, you are guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome.
