Old Crown Hotel Information

Description

The Old Crown is a striking building, rich in history and character and is one of a few remaining examples of Birmingham's medieval past. The building is a Grade II listed building and was built circa 1368. It is believed that every room has a tale to tell and it is said that the Old Crown is haunted by not one but two ghosts! Ask our staff for some of the building's spooky tales. The Old Crown is located only half a mile from the city centre, making it perfect for anyone travelling for work, wanting to visit the Bullring (our proud shopping complex), see our sights or just for a break. There are good transport links with buses and trains running in the local area. Although we do not have on-site parking, there are a number of local car parks (2 located on the High Street, visible from the hotel), feel free to enquire with us for more details or directions. We are located in the heart of Digbeth, which is a lively area filled with culture and a hospitable community. The Old Crown is well known for it's events, such as Oktoberfest, 12 Weeks of Summer, takeovers and many more. Due to the fact the building is Grade II listed, some noise does travel around the building from our garden, and the surrounding roads. However, if you are looking for somewhere steeped in history and character, The Old Crown is the perfect place. We have a kitchen on-site providing freshly made food and pub classics.

Accessibility

Our building is Grade II listed along with its historical charm comes a few mobility issues. There are a few steps around on our ground floor level and the stairs leading to the first floor are quite steep. Although 99% of people manage them with no problem, if you have any mobility issues it may be best to call ahead and discuss. Our ground floor area is fully DDA compliant with a Disabled toilet.
