Description

Offering the charm of a village style hotel, with the convenience of city hotel the Old Farm sits in the heart of Bournville Village, in the city of Birmingham. Cadbury World is a short walk from the hotel. The Old Farm is one of closest hotels to Birmingham University, Selly Oak and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The Old Farm features 12 comfortable bedrooms. We have a choice of single, double and family rooms located in the old farm house and our annex overlooking our large private garden. The hotel provides free car parking on site for our guests. The hotel offers a well stocked licensed bar, which leads out to recently installed spacious deck area, where guests can enjoy a drink overlooking our peaceful private garden. The Old Farm is an 8 minute walk to Bournville Train Station. There are regular trains to Birmingham city centre (only 13 minutes on the train) with trains running every 10 minutes on weekdays. Also accessible from Bournville Train Station are Selly Oak (3 mins), Birmingham University & Queen Elizabeth Hospital (6 mins), Five Ways & Broad Street (10 mins), Kings Norton (3 mins), Longbridge (9 mins).

Originally a farm house The Old Farm sits opposite the land on which the Cadbury's built their Chocolate Factory in the mid 1800's. Operating as a Farm throughout the 1800's the building was acquired by Cadbury family in around 1900 and has been providing hotel accommodation and operating as a community function venue ever since.

Accessibility

All ground floor rooms (of which there are 6) are accessible without having to use a stair case or steps. Their is an accessible room on the ground floor close to reception with wet room.

Directions

  • Train from Bournville Train Station (0.5 miles)
    The hotel is an 8 minute walk from Bournville Station. Exit Bournville Train Station on to Bournville Lane. Walk along Bournville Lane with the Cadbury factory on your right hand side. As you approach the the crossroads, where Linden Rd crosses, Bournville Lane, you will see the hotel opposite. There is a pedestrian crossing over Linden Road.
  • Train from New Street Station (Grand Central) (4.4 miles)
    There are regular trains from Birmingham New Street to Bournville Station (running approximately every 10mins during a weekday). The train from New Street station takes 13mins (passing through Fiveways, University and Selly Oak Stations on the way). It is an 8 min walk from Bournville Station to the hotel along Bournville Lane.
