Description

The Farmhouse - sleeps five . The Farmhouse provides spacious accommodation spread over two floors, with one double bedroom, one twin and a single bedroom. There is a comfortable bathroom and spacious kitchen/breakfast area plus large living area and dining room with a stunning log burning fire and views across fields. The traditionally decorated rooms in the Farmhouse are large and airy and there are charming features such as the beautiful wooden staircase and huge fireplace. An extra bed can be provided for further sleeping. There is a patio area and access to a tennis court, summer house and barbeque. Please note that we sometimes move reservations between our two lovely cottages if we feel that either one would be more suitable for our guests, therefore if you require The Farmhouse specifically then please specify this on the booking, or alternatively if you have mobility issues please book Stable Cottage as it is single storey. Please note that neither cottage has been designed for wheelchair access at this present time, however Stable cottage, as well as being on the ground floor, has a shower rather than a bath, making it easier for people with mobility issues.

Stable Cottage - sleeps three. Stable Cottage is a converted Cotswold stone stable block. The building has much charm, with exposed beams, a cosy wood burning fire and has been decorated in a contemporary country style providing light and airy accomoodation. All on one floor, there is one double bedroom, one single bedroom, a comfortable bathroom and a generous kitchen/living area with an attractive stone floor throughout. An extra bed is available to provide further sleeping. Stable Cottage has a private lawn and patio area with furniture. A tennis court is available on site, as is a barbeque and summer house. Please note that we sometimes move reservations between our two lovely cottages if we feel that either one would be more suitable for our guests, so if you require this cottage because you have mobility issues please inform us on the booking and we will guarantee that you stay in Stable Cottage which is single storey. Description

Battens Farm is a working organic farm located in the Cotswolds, two miles from the pretty village of Castle Combe, recently used to film 'War Horse', and eleven miles from Bath, the fabulous roman spa city. Our cottages offer relaxed, traditional country accommodation, with roaring log fires, comfy sofas and pleasant views over fields. We pride ourselves on creating hearty breakfasts using our own produce when available, and this is delivered right to your door! You will find outdoor seating areas and a barbecue for summer evenings; perhaps after a game of tennis? Our bed and breakfast is unique. You will have the full use of a cottage with kitchen facilities, spacious living area and total privacy, so you can enjoy the best of self catering and bed and breakfast combined! Battens farm is four miles from Lacock, used to film 'Harry Potter' and numerous costume dramas, and four miles from Corsham, recently famous for the filming of 'Poldark'. The arboretum at Westonbirt is nearby and we are conveniently located for the annual Badminton horse trials.

Road from Junction 17 M4 (4.5 miles)

From junction 17 M4 head towards Chippenham on the A350. After approximately 2 miles turn right at traffic lights towards Kington st Michael, at the next crossroads after 500 yards turn left onto Fowlswick lane, after approximately 2 miles Battens Farm is on the left. 'Battens Farm' is signed on the stone wall either side of the drive. Call 07429677663 or 01249660388 any problems
Road from Chippenham (3.0 miles)

Leave Chippenham heading towards Bristol on the A420. Turn right heading for Castle Combe. After 1/2 mile turn right at cross roads. After 1/2 mile we are on the right hand side. Road from Bath (12.0 miles)

Head towards Chippenham on the A420. Turn left heading towards Castle Combe. After 1/2 mile turn right at crossroads, after 1/2 mile we are on the right hand side. Battens Farm is signed either side of the driveway on the stone wall. Please call 07429677663 or 01249660388 if any problems.
