Directions

  • Road from Glasgow (97.0 miles)
From Glasgow, Kilmartin is a very easy 2 hour drive. Take the A82 out of Glasgow, which will, in turn, become the A83. 2 hours later, you will be driving towards a hillside with a church. Welcome to Kilmartin! Once in the village, turn right immediately after The Kilmartin Hotel. Pass the white cottages either side and head to the very end of the road. You will come to a gravel track and this leads to Kilmartin Castle.
  • Road from Edinburgh (142.0 miles)
It will take you 3hrs and 20mins to drive from Edinburgh to Kilmartin. The drive is stunning taking you through small Scottish villages and valleys with lochs and snow capped mountains along the way. Take the M8 from Edinburgh joining the A82 at Glasgow, that becomes the A83. Once at Kilmartin the church and it's gravestones spill down the hillside. Once in the village, turn right immediately after The Kilmartin Hotel. Pass the white cottages either side and head to the very end of the road.
