1 Castle Mews Information

Description

1 Castle Mews is a modern property with two double bedrooms, one ensuite, a large family bathroom and open plan lounge and kitchen diner. Dartmouth is right on your doorstep ready for you to explore, but should you wish to stay in, the house is comfortably furnished as a home from home, there is plenty of room to relax, curl up in front of the Smart TV with the log burner glowing. Dartmouth town centre has plenty of exciting places to eat and drink within walking distance from the property. The house benefits from a one free parking space, although this is a 10 minute walk away from the house. You may find your car useful if you wish to explore further afield - plenty of beaches, coastal walks, National Trust properties and an abundance of great places to eat and drink but everything within the town is accessible by foot.

    PARKING
Guests staying at 1, Castle Mews can enjoy one free parking space at Lauriston House.  This space is a ten minute walk from the apartment so we recommend unloading your luggage before you head off to park.  Alternatively you can seek out parking in the town.  There is a public pay and display car park in Mayors Avenue, or you may find street parking around the town.  Please note that much of the street parking is limited to 2 hours during the day from March to October.

Directions to Lauriston House  - the postcode is TQ6 9PB.  From the Boatfloat you follow the road round past Marks and Spencer, the road bends to the left, you will see Coronation Park on your left.  Take the left turn just after the Ship in Dock pub, taking you up a steep hill.  Lauriston House is on your left, pull into the drive way and park on the left hand side beside the hedge.

    Directions to 1 Castle Mews
Centrally located, the roads to  Dartmouth are narrow and are often busy with seasonal traffic so please drive carefully and slowly. If you wish to take a second car, you will need to leave it in a public car park. The main car park in Dartmouth is Mayors Avenue but spaces are highly sought after in high season and cannot be reserved.

    Arriving by car
The easiest way to come to 1 Castle Mews and explore South Devon is by car; simply enter the property’s address into your navigation system - postcode is TQ6 9DH.  We recommend you pull into Anzac Street, Dartmouth and stop momentarily by the blue house. You will see the Spice Bazaar opposite, and the church in front of you. Beside the blue house is the start of a pathway around the church, 1 Castle Mews is the first house along this path and has the name on the door.

We have also provided details below to help make our guests’ journeys easier.
If you are coming from the M5 Motorway or Exeter Airport…
Follow the signage for Plymouth (A38) until you see junction for the A384 to Totnes. Once you have reached Totnes, simply follow the signs for Dartmouth (A381 and then the A3122). You will eventually arrive at the top of Dartmouth via Townstal Road, please be aware that this is a very long and steep road so we recommend that you remain in a low gear. At the bottom of the hill, stay left and follow B3205 along North Embankment Road. Turn right at the harbour (boatfloat) drive past Boots and the Royal Castle Hotel
and take the next left. Anzac street is the first left and is a narrow road between shops.

If you are coming across the river we recommend that you take the Dartmouth Higher Ferry from Kingswear due to its larger size. Tickets can be purchased on their website in advance or you can pay on the day with either cash or card. Use the link below to find out more information regarding the ferry sailings and service.  Disembark from the Higher Ferry drive along North Embankment Road, turn right at the harbour and Harbour Living overlooks the harbour on The Quay.
