Ardross Glencairn Information

Description

Welcome to the Ardross Glencairn, located just outside the city centre of Inverness – the capital of the Scottish Highlands. Stay with us for a warm, highland welcome that is close to all local amenities. The property is conveniently located for exploring the city centre on a quiet, residential street that will ensure a peaceful nights rest. We are just a 5-minute walk from the river, the city centre, local art galleries, Eden Court Theatre and all major bars and restaurants. Inverness railway station and bus station are both just a 15-minute walk away. Ardross Glencairn is composed of three historically listed Victorian houses. Two of these - 18 and 19 - are joined by an extension at the rear. The third - No. 17 - is situated next door. All rooms come equipped with Freeview TV, a hairdryer, kettle and towels. Rooms at the front of the property have retained their original period features. WiFi is available for free in all public areas and most bedrooms. On-street parking is available nearby and is metered by the local authority between the hours of 10am and 5pm. Outwith these hours are free. The take away breakfast is served in the bright and welcoming dining room with a selection of options to start your day. The manager lives on-site and is available for all enquiries you may have during your stay. There is a phone for emergencies at reception.

The Rowan Guest House Group started in 2001 when the Rowan family took over the Glencairn guesthouse – a grade-B listed Victorian building in the heart of Inverness that has been tastefully extended over the years. In 2005, the Rowan family extended their business to include the Ardross guesthouse (also a grade-B listed Victorian building) situated next door. In 2014 the two buildings were joined together with a new extension to become one house, and the amalgamation of the two properties saw the birth of the Ardross Glencairn as it is today. In 2019, the Rowan family extended the business again to include the Whinpark guesthouse situated next door at number 17 Ardross Street. This property has been completely refurbished in every bedroom and en suite shower rooms to ensure it is of the same standard as our other properties. These properties are run by a small management team, including two generations of the Rowan family (with the third generation “helping out” now and then!). We also have a fantastic team of managers, reception, breakfast and room staff to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one. We look forward to meeting you soon.
