Description

Bluebird Lodge Guest House and Apartments are situated on the edge of the picturesque village of Coniston, close to the shore of Coniston Water. We are perfectly located for a range of activities - from action-packed outdoor adventure, water sports and cycling to more gentle walks, or sightseeing and visiting the many places of interest nearby. A short, level walk takes you into the heart of the village with its many shops, pubs and cafes. Also a short walk away is the shore of Coniston Water, and the Coniston Boating Centre. Take a tour of the lake on the Steam Yacht 'Gondola' or the Coniston Launch, and visit Brantwood, John Ruskin's house across the lake. Our 5 ensuite bed and breakfast rooms are clean and comfortable, with televisions, tea and coffee making facilities and wifi. They are all on the ground floor, and range from doubles and twins to our luxury king-sized suite. Included in our rates is a hearty breakfast from our varied breakfast menu, served in the Garden Room with its stunning view of Coniston Old Man. With the exception of Room 5 (Small double with shower) our rooms are dog-friendly, although we do ask that you check with us on booking. There is a £10 per night charge for dogs. Our self-catering apartments are situated on the first floor, with commanding views of The Old Man. Both have kitchens equipped with an oven, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher, and have central heating - perfect for year-round breaks. Apartment 1 is dog-friendly and has 2 bedrooms - a double and a double/twin. It has a large bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Apartment 2 has 2 King Size bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite shower room. There is also a large bathroom with a bath and separate shower. Sorry - this apartment does not take dogs.

Our aim is to provide our guests with a clean, comfortable and welcoming base from which to explore this beautiful area. We believe that a good day starts with a good breakfast, so we offer a varied menu which including fresh fruit, cereal, a cooked breakfast which includes locally produced sausages and bacon, and home made pancakes. We are happy to cater for different dietary needs - please make us aware when booking. We have an extensive knowledge of the local area and are happy to help you plan your trip or suggest activities or walks you might like.
