Description

Lodge Information Only. Bear Huts are SEPERATE to the Lodge. Highland Bear Lodge is a Scottish baronial styled Lodge set on a hillside in the Glenurquhart valley with spectacular views over Loch Melkie 30 minutes from Inverness and just 10 minutes from Loch Ness & Urquhart Castle and all its attractions. Highland Bear Lodge has 3 luxurious rooms/suites - Bonnie Prince Charlie which has a beautiful 4 poster bed with breath-taking views over the Loch, spacious en-suite with all the touches you would expect in a small luxurious hotel. Mary Queen of Scots room also enjoys fabulous views and a beautiful king size bed with large newly refurbished en-suite. The Highland room can either be a king-size double or a twin room newly decorated with stags and tartan to a high standard it enjoys a large luxurious en-suite. All rooms have brand new HD TV's, generous hospitality tray, WiFi, brand new fluffy white towels and bed linen with Highland Soap Company toiletries. For those who have booked breakfast we do a in room Continental breakfast so you can enjoy it at your own pace and in the comfort of your room. This consists of tea/coffee, orange juice, porridge, Alpen Bars, croissants, cheese, salmon, jam, butter & yogurt in a handy takeaway bag for those who wish to take it away. We also provide plates, cutlery and napkins Highland Bear Lodge is the perfect base to enjoy all the Highlands have to offer. From amazing scenery, walks, castles, dolphin watching and all outdoor activities we also run the Highlands only paragliding centre - Beyond Extreme - so why not try a tandem paragliding flight near Loch Ness. Our Chief Instructor Mark Dann has flown with Patrick Swayze on the film "Point Break" worked for the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky television and has done tandems for BBC's Matt Baker and Suzi Perry. Relax by the fire in our guests lounge, sink into our comfortable sofas and enjoy a glass of wine or a wee dram while enjoy the views over the Glen.

Bear Huts Information. We now also have two Bear huts which are separate to the lodge but self contained. Each Bear hut has a King-Size bed, small kitchen area, fridge, en suite, freeview TV and heater. Tea and Coffee and a small welcome pack will be waiting for you to get you started on your adventure in the Highlands. Situated on the grounds of Highland Bear Lodge and facing into Glenurquhart forest, you will hear the fairy pool waterfalls and the evening hoots of the local owls. Its a real chance to relax and enjoy this beautiful area. Please note the Lodge is separate to the Huts so no access is allowed in the lodge if you have booked the Bear huts. The huts are room only but you have a small complementary welcome pack to see you through breakfast consisting of Tea, Coffee, Fresh Milk, porridge and muesli bars. Free parking and outside sitting area to enjoy the highland air. Bear Huts are a fantastic romantic getaway with nature right on your doorstep.

Accessibility

Unfortunately due to the Baronial style of the lodge we do not have ramps, lifts or handrails. Built on the side of a mountain the disabled access is limited. If you have booked Shepherd Huts we do not allow access to the lodge as this is for Lodge Guests only.

    Google Maps Highland Bear Lodge then follow the brown signs.  

    Please note Sat Navs will take you to the approx area but not the lodge so please follow easy instructions below: From Drumnadrochit take the A831 road to Cannich. Just after passing through the village of Balnain on your left you will see a warning sign saying blind summit 20 mtrs passed this on the left the next sign will say Upperton. Turn right here and its your first left through black gates and up a winding drive. Park next to the garage on the left and up the stairs to the front door.
