Rose and Crown Information
Description
Welcome to Slaley Rose & Crown, the pub/restaurant owned by the community it serves following a successful community share offer in 2013.
It is the only community-owned pub/restaurant in the North East. Our Manager, Tracey Weatherley, and her team look forward to welcoming you and making your visit a memorable one.
The Rose & Crown is a Grade 2 listed building which dates back to 1675. It has been providing services to locals and visitors ever since. There are log fires and a warm welcome in winter and a sheltered beer garden with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside for the summer.
With outstanding views to the south, the Rose and Crown is located in the beautiful Northumberland countryside. It is in the heart of Slaley village, home of Slaley Show, close to the Slaley Hall golf complex. It is a fine touring base with the local attractions of Hexham, Corbridge, Hadrian's Wall, Beamish Open Air Museum, historic Durham City and indoor shopping at The Metro Centre Gateshead, all a short drive away. Newcastle with its International airport is a 30 minute drive away. The Northumberland coast with Alnwick castle and gardens, including Lindisfarne island are within an hours drive.
We offer a wide menu selection of freshly cooked food from locally sourced ingredients as well as a great choice of real ales, beers, wines and spirits. Whether you are exploring Hadrian’s Wall Country or simply looking for a nice place to eat then the Rose & Crown is the place to visit and stay in.
Both of our B&B bedrooms enjoy wonderful views and are en-suite and centrally heated. They have been recently refurbished but have retained the original character expected in a building of this age. They are both upstairs above the pub and accessed via an external door and staircase.
Our letting rooms are at first floor level and are accessed via a flight of stairs. We do not have a lift and consequently our accommodation is not suitable for wheelchair users or those with limited mobility.
