The Bryn B&B Information

Description

COVID-19 We are good to go! Please contact us if you need to check before booking. A warm welcome awaits you at our family run B&B. Tucked in a quiet cul-de-sac, a five minute walk from Oswestry town centre shops and restaurants. Ideally located for visiting the attractions and countryside of Mid and North Wales. 45 minutes to Chester, just over an hour to Liverpool, Manchester or Newtown. Offa's Dyke is nearby. We welcome walkers and cyclists and offer a packed lunch by request. Bikes can be secured in the garden at the rear of the house. All rooms are non smoking, however there is a designated smoking area in the garden at the rear of the house. We serve fresh, locally sourced produce at breakfast, including home made bread and home made raspberry jam, using home grown fruit. Blueberry drop scones with maple syrup are a speciality. We pride ourselves on the comfort our home offers and are as accommodating as possible to ensure our guests a relaxed stay. Our double bedroom has a comfortable double bed and king size duvet, with a flat screen T.V., comfortable chair, fair trade hot drink making facilities with milk, hairdryer, boot tray, hanging rail, fresh bedding and towels, toiletries supplied. It has a small en-suite with a white shower, W.C. and vanity unit, mirror with shaver point. Our luxury twin bedroom is situated on the ground floor and has two, comfortable single beds with duvets and bedspreads, 26" flat screen T.V., cosy chair and 2 seater bench. Large white en-suite with quartile shower, W.C., and wash basin, shaver point and large mirror. This room is integral to our house, but also has french windows opening onto our drive and front garden, giving guests private access. All our rooms also have an electronic fire alarm for your safety. Off road parking is available on our drive (cars park behind one another) or parking is available in the cul-de-sac.

Hi I'm Val. I used to be a Manager with a high street bank. In 2010 I took redundancy and decided to start a B&B from home. I organised a sausage tasting, inviting family, friends, colleagues and neighbours to come along. There were 3 different pork sausages from local butchers. Everyone had to mark them in order of preference. The winning sausage would be served for breakfast so the decision was out of my hands! Throughout the day 40 people arrived. Thankfully not all at the same time. And a sausage was chosen! We still use our local butcher and we try to source locally for other produce. As Chris likes to say 'we haven't found local baked beans yet!'. A few years later Chris, my husband had the chance to take redundancy so he became the Baker. He makes the bread for toast at breakfast time and it is very popular. I make blueberry drop scones, delicious with either butter or Canadian maple syrup. We grow fruit in our garden which I use to make the jam we serve at breakfast. While I cook, Chris is front of house chatting and answering questions about the area. We enjoy meeting people from varied backgrounds and occupations from all over the world. You'll receive a warm welcome.
