Goa room: being located in the “protection area” of the Almada of Carvalhais Palace , provider of Casa da Índia (The Royal Trading House, founded around 1500), this is our tribute to Portuguese India. Goa was a Portuguese colonial province during 450 years, and today is the decorating theme of our largest and most romantic room with a separate entrance.
This room is 45 m2 and was a dining room of a noble residence. You can still enjoy some of the original plaster ceilings, also the magnificent wooden floors made with rot of Brazil, and admire the traditional construction method of the walls in a magnificent contemporary effect. The room, overlooking the river and the city, has a double and two single beds, flat screen tv, desk, chaise long, radiators and fans…
Enough but not too much! The private bathroom has a nice shower glaze of 160 cm/100 cm, hair dryer and all amenities of a modern hotel.
Paraty was a Portuguese colonial town (1500-1822) very well preserved, close to Rio de Janeiro. Now is the decorating theme of one of our suites. All white, but punctuated by color flashes, honors the Brasil, country from which came the magnificent tropical rot wood floor. Enjoy how we took the ruin of an ancient fireplace to make a small closet. The suite overlooking the river and town, has about 35 m2, one double and two single beds, flat screen TV, desk, radiator and fan.
The bathroom is very romantic and has a glazed surface that allows natural light entry.
Rooms are all unique and different, but all are spacious, comfortable and nice. This units have a private bathroom next door. Any room has a different Portuguese colonial origin town as decoration theme.
Asul B&B Informações
Descrição
Lisbon, as Rome, is known for having seven hills and a unique sky light. It’s a legendary city and the bigger touristic center of Portugal.
The Asul B&B is a true family housing situated in the historical center, on a floor of a noble building from late 18th century, which was the summer residence of the count of Galveias.
It is included at the special protection area of the Almada Carvalhais Palace, a built in 1510 Renaissance Monument - which also includes the Conde-Barão de Alvito Palace, built in 1530.
The B&B was decorated assuming the contrast between these illustrious origins and a very contemporary design.
Our typical clients are couples, families and little groups that appreciate both, history and leisure animation, and are willing to give up from some comforts - like air conditioning, elevator or Spa - so they can enjoy the authenticity of the experience and the purity of architectural details. We're in a second floor, the rooms are nice, spacious and cosy.
We are situated in a popular but quiet neighborhood, 10 to 20 minutes walk from the main nightlife spots and touristic points of interest. The new restoration area of the Mercado da Ribeira is only 100m away.
The old neighborhood of São Paulo is located between the river and three of the most important historical neighborhoods: Baixa/Chiado, Bairro Alto and Madragoa. The Bica funicular and the famous 28 tram are few minutes walk from our B&B. The neighborhood has direct transport to almost all of the city and the train that gives access to the beaches is five-minute walk.
You can also count on a friendly and well informed reception: we know the city and the outskirts and on a good portion our customers stay friends.
