A twin-bedded room available on the first floor on the east side of the house with a large east-facing window with a window seat on which to sit and look across the town towards the sea. This room is large, spacious and quiet with en-suite facilities, television, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryer, and extra blankets and pillows. The name 'Lochnagar' is taken from one of our best-loved hills and one of the most celebrated of the Munros. The hill has an elevation of 1155 metres high and flanks a spectacular cliff-lined corrie. The car journey to this hill is about 1½ hours and takes you through breath-taking countryside of hills, rivers and forests. Both Prince Charles and Lord Byron have published stories and poems about Lochnagar (the hill, not our bedroom!).

A double room available on the second floor directly above Morven (the room, not the hill) and on the west side of the house with a window overlooking the south side of Stonehaven. This is a quiet and spacious room away from the hustle and bustle of the house with a large double bed and en-suite facilities. It also has a television, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, and extra blankets and pillows. This room is named after one of our most easterly Munroes and the journey there by car should take you through Deeside with its pinewood forests and open glens. Mount Keen is 939 Metres high and will take between 5 and 7 hours to climb. On a fine day there are extensive beautiful views from the top.

This is our only family room and is situated on the top floor, just across from Bennachie (the room, not the hill) on the east side of the house with a panoramic view across the town to the sea. The room is comfortable and bright and also has a spacious, modern en-suite. There are 2 double beds to ensure that everyone gets a good night's sleep. This room is far away from the chatter and clatter of life and if you’re an early riser, you can watch the sun rise over the sea from the dormer window. The room has been named after one of our best-known lower hills of Aberdeenshire. It’s only 40 minutes away by car and although just 589 metres high it still proffers spectacular views across to Lochnagar and Bennachie (the hills, not the rooms) and will take about 3 hours to climb, with a particularly challenging final half-hour. PLEASE NOTE: If only 2 guests are booked for this room then we will make up ONLY 1 BED unless advised otherwise by the guest. For this reason guests MUST ADVISE US IN ADVANCE that both beds are required so that we can get the room ready for your arrival. There will also be a £20.00 supplement to cover the additional laundry cost.

This is a twin-bedded room (single beds) available on the top floor on the east side of the house. You will feel that you have left the noise and chaos of life behind when you’re up here. Here you can sit in the dormer window and enjoy the views across the town to the sea. This room has a lovely calm feel to it and has a bright, spacious and modern en-suite. It also boasts a television, tea and coffee facilities, a hairdryer, and extra blanket and pillows. The name Bennachie is taken from a dramatic mountain ridge to the north of Aberdeen. The granite ridge has 7 taps or tors along its length. Most people like to climb the highest of these called ‘Oxen Craig’, which is 528 metres and will take between 2½ and 4 hours to climb. The journey by car to this hill from Stonehaven takes about 1 hour through marvellous Scottish countryside. Whereas the journey to room 'Bennachie' from the front door will be by foot and should take somewhere between 18 secs and 4 hours depending on whether or not you stop by the guest lounge for a whisky on the way.

A quiet double room available on the first floor on the west side of the house with a beautiful stained–glass picture window facing west and a second window to the north. A spacious and very comfortable room with a large double bed and en-suite facilities, the room also comes with television, tea & coffee facilities, hairdryer, and extra blankets and pillows. The room itself is named after one of our beautiful local hills just over an hour’s drive from Stonehaven, to the west of Tarland and north of Ballater. Morven is 872 Metres high (the hill, not the bedroom!) and is known as a ‘Corbet’ (i.e. not quite high enough to be a 'Munro'). It takes between 3½ and 5 hours to climb and the views over lower Aberdeenshire are spectacular.

Arduthie House Informações
Descrição
Arduthie House is a magnificent 5-bedroom Victorian house in the heart of the beautiful coastal town of Stonehaven with its wonderful attractions such as Dunnottar Castle, the War Memorial, the Tolbooth, the Harbour and seafront promenade with places to eat and play, and a scenic and challenging golf course to the north of the town. Set back from the road (Ann Street) Arduthie House offers large and comfortable rooms for the discerning traveller. We have 2 double rooms, 2 twin rooms, and a family room (sleeping 2 adults and 2 children) all with en-suite facilities. PLEASE NOTE: If the Family Room ('Clachnaben') is booked for 2 guests, only 1 bed will be prepared. If you require both beds to be prepared then YOU MUST LET US KNOW IN ADVANCE so that we can have the room ready for your arrival and there is a £20.00 additional supplement payable on arrival to cover the additional laundry cost. We have a wonderful guest lounge with games, books, musical instruments and very comfortable seating. Guests are invited to use the lounge at their own discretion. Breakfast is served in the dining room where guests can enjoy a continental-style breakfast with hams and cheeses, fresh bread and freshly baked croissants, cereal & toast, fresh fruits and yoghurts. Arduthie House is perfectly located close to the town square where guests can walk to the sea in 2-3 minutes and either turn right for the harbour or turn left for the recreation ground and the open air swimming pool, both of which are a 7-10 minute walk from the house. From the house the more adventurous guests can make their way up the Black Hill via the Harbour to the War Memorial and then continue along the cliffs to Dunnottar Castle - a walk of about 40 minutes. Stonehaven also offers easy access to Aberdeen (Duthie Park Winter Gardens, Art Gallery, Museums, and plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities), and to Royal Deeside, with its castles and distilleries, and further on to the Cairngorms.

Arduthie House is set back from the road on the left about 100 metres along Ann Street.
-
Estrada a partir de North (1,0 milhas)As you enter Stonehaven, cross over the bridge and follow the road round to the left. Very soon, with KwikFit on your right, the road will fork - take the right fork (Barclay Street) and continue along this road until you see Charles Michie's pharmacist. Turn right immediately before Michie's (Margaret Street). At the top of Margaret Street, turn right. Arduthie House is almost immediately on your left set back from the road.
-
Comboio a partir de Station (0,75 milhas)As you leave the Station, make your way to the main road (aim for the Station Hotel). The main road is called Arduthie Road. Turn left on this road and follow it all the way down until it bears left. Follow the road to the left (Evan Street) and continue down that road towards the centre of town. Eventually one of the roads on the left is Ann Street. Walk along Ann Street for about 100m and Arduthie House is on the left set back from the road.
