The British & World Marbles Championships take place at the Greyhound public house, every single year, always on Good Friday. For those of you who aren’t sure when Good Friday is, it’s 30th March in 2018. The event attracts teams from all over the world and involves teams comprising of six players battling out to become the champion. The winners will claim a trophy and the prestigious title of being victorious.
You can either come along for a marbelous time as a spectator or if you’re feeling brave, you can even compete against some of the world’s best players. Anyone can enter regardless of their nationality or age, so it’s easy for people of all cultures to exhibit their marble ability. The event usually takes the whole day, so if you’re entering to win, be prepared for a long day. Otherwise, just come to take in the atmosphere, and learn a few new tricks!
