Plymouth’s Lord Mayor’s Day is great fun for all the family. The newly sworn in Mayor will be paraded around the town and will give a speech midway through the celebrations.
The carnival atmosphere is centred on the Piazza, where the stage is set for a fabulous day of entertainment. The lineup includes balloon modelling for little ones, magicians, storytelling and stilt walkers.
On the stage you can see some of Plymouth’s best community choirs and dance groups perform their repertoires, with sets by theatre groups, street dancers, and Bollywood dancers, amongst others. The Mayor’s speech will also take place on the centre stage.
A whole host of stalls will be set up allowing you to discover all about the town’s charities and community groups, and Guildhall Square will host the giant board games area and craft workshops for young ones. There will also be a display of military vehicles, and another display of iconic Raleigh Chopper bikes. Which one will be your favourite?
The fun starts at 10am and continues into the late afternoon, so head to the piazza with the whole family for a great day out.
